Phuket – September 28, 2015: JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa is celebrating the latest addition to the list of their greatest achievements after having been presented the 10th Thailand Tourism Award also known as Kinnaree Award. Recognition in the category of Tourist Accommodation, Award of Excellence for Resort Hotel (80 rooms and over). The ceremony held on September 27, at Grand Diamond ballroom of the Impact Challenger Muang Thong Thani Arena, Nonthaburi.

JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa received its first recognition at the 5th Thailand Tourism Awards 2004 and was reaccredited in 2006 and 2015 while carrying on with the acclaim to this year’s presentation.

The biennial awards are conducted on an alternate year basis since it was first implemented in 1996. Thailand Tourism Awards is organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and aims to promote national tourism with quality standards and are designed to instill awareness and promote responsible management in tourism among tourism entrepreneurs, ultimately leading to sustainable tourism. The Kinnaree Awards presented to the winners in the five categories signify the symbol of tourism accreditation that will gain tourists’ confidence and trust to the Kingdom of Thailand. The event is scheduled to coincide with World Tourism Day which was on 27 September and the awards presentation was a significant highlight since it supports and upholds good environmental practices towards sustainable tourism.
